In 1994, he did his internship in the Boston City Hospital, Boston University Medical Center, USA. In 1995 - 1996 he did his training in Peripheric Vascular Surgery in the Clinical Hospital of Chile's Air Force.

Dr. Cabrera specialized exclusively in vein studies, in other words, in Phlebology and Linphology, by doing multiple courses in the United States and in Europe. Dr. Cabrera is the founder of the Center of Venous Pathology of Santiago in Chile, the first Phlebologic Center in his country, which actually has become a part of the prestigious group of Veintec Clinics in the United States.
 
Dr. Cabrera is a member of the Hispanic Speaking Society of Vascular Surgeons, of the American College of Phlebology, The French Society of Phlebology and the Chile Society of Ultrasonography.

At the current moment Dr. Cabrera is the Medical Director of Veintec-Chile and he is Staff of the Department of Surgery in the Clinic of, which is the oldest and most prestigious private General Hospital of the country.
